Get on and Shine with Holly Honeychurch

Our first Hogmanay is different to what Iโ€™d imagined but still, eating boatloads of chocolate muffins and butter icing whilst listening to Every Open Eye by the incredible Scottish band CHVRCHES is more than enough. ๐Ÿ˜Š A walk round the streets later will surely be a lot of fun. Before then bring on the rum, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and then the fireworks! Cheers to you and yours. May you be smiling into 2021. Keep on giggling. ๐ŸŒŸ ๐Ÿ˜˜ ๐ŸŒŸ
ps I โค๏ธ sugar ๐Ÿคฉ and you. X

Bought myself the very good deal of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, on sale in the Nintendo shop at the mo. Suffice to say, I’ve now got a maximum play time of two hours a day to keep my addictive nature in check. It’s a cute strategy game and the cheeky Rabbids are so much fun.

30 Days of Dancing #29 Today was a dance where lots of creative ideas came through. Exciting times ahead! I also gave some extra care to my dear, sweet lame foot. It does work hard for me. Thank you footsie. All whilst listening to epic Grotesque 350 and watching lovely nature.

30 Days of Dancing #28 Iโ€™ve been dabbling in techno for a few days now. Tonight was Deborah De Lucaโ€™s turn. Sheโ€™s great. Nice and smooth beats with long build ups. I went on a journey with her. Then I listened to Allen Wattโ€™s trance set and I swear it sounded so chaotic. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Would you like a calm, fun podcast to keep the kids occupied for 15 minutes? Well here’s my latest Christmas Donkey episode where Miss Honeychurch and the bunnies sing a christmas carol, do donkey impressions and remember to be grateful for everything they have.

30 Days of Dancing #27 Dance walk in the sunshine, smelling the yellow, sweet winter flowers, enjoying the Santa hat wearers, walking down steep hills to polish shops to buy cherry Jaffa cakes. The air was crisp and so yummy to breathe in. Met some friendly bunnies too…

30 Days of Dancing #26 Yay! Fab new dj found. Alignment. Some say he’s got a hard techno edge. I’m loving his beats and I’m loving being suitably uplifted by unusual samples. Bpm 136 - 140. There’s a particular track he’s made called Injection which is really rocking my world right now. Not doing Xmas songs really this year (I’d make an exception for Michael Bublรฉ and The Puppini Sisters however). I wonder if there are any banging remixes of It’s beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas? Ha! Let me know. Banging beats all the way honey! ; ) Love you!

30 Days of Dancing #25 Great feelings of lightfooted freedom came over me today. The music lifted me up and I lifted myself up. No pain. No difficulty. Just smooth moves and sassy stretches. I can’t help but move to beats with a vibe. These ones certainly held my attention.

Did you know about the agressive Norwegian Lemming and the European hamster who eats candle wax?

30 Days of Dancing #24 Been bouncing around today to a b2b session of DnB and been feeding pistachios to the local squirrels and magpies. Feeling chunky in a good way (bigger muscles) and un-chunky in another (less fat). It’s a magical thing when the music’s just right for your mood. The body shines.

This dark remixed track called Panic Room always seems to make me move. It’s definitely the opposite of the usual love bomb samples scattered throughout tracks. I might consider myself a sweet homely girl in everyday life but get me in a dark, basey DnB club (or just listening to it in the kitchen actually : ) and my naughty side comes out to play.

Breakfast mood (and yes, that is a dollop of clotted cream with my chocolate pud). ๐Ÿ˜‰

30 Days of Dancing #23 As I sit here, bouncing away to another Charlotte De Witte set, this time dj-ing on top of a castle (= Queen of Techno) : ) I’m feeling rather sleepy after a whole day of rearranging furniture. I love a change and things look different in the flat now. It feels fresh, new and exciting. It’s had a ‘winter clean’. I found all the hidden dust - something no-one wants to find. And now it’s gone yay! I love tidying to music. I’ve done some great hoover routines in the past. And then not only have I listened to lush music, my house has also been way tidier woo!

Being on my feet all day however and feeling my ankle complain has meant a more static dance this evening. More like a ‘wiggle your whole body backwards and forwards on a chair for a couple of hours without stopping’ kinda thing. I’m still totally engaged and my stomach muscles will thank me tommorow. It makes me empathise with all those dancers who can’t use their legs to dance. I’m having a dance with them tonight and using every other part of my body instead. Enjoy your legs and love your feet people. They’re precious things.

30 Days of Dancing #22 Haven’t been able to get into trance today so l’ve moved onto this amazing set with Charlotte de Witte at the helm, smashing up those techno beats. Awesome backdrop surrounded by beautiful sea too. This girl is a cool cookie. Loving it so far.

A big heads up to Jorn Van Deynhoven. Havenโ€™t heard a set from him before and Iโ€™m loving what I hear so far. Lots of uplifting trance woo! Thereโ€™s a particular track which is sooooo amazing with beautiful female vocals and a sacred folk kind of melody. Itโ€™s called Mirage 2020.

30 Days of Dancing #21 Part of todayโ€™s movement was a dance walk to the supermarket. Itโ€™s good for me to walk meditatively with an awesome soundtrack on and feel exactly how I put one foot in front of the other. I can learn a lot from my body by being mindful of this process.

30 Days of Dancing #20 Aly & Fila got me moving today. Lots of stunning melodies to fly around the kitchen to. I decided to do some Wim Hoff breathing in the middle of my sesh. It felt super expansive and tranquil despite the drum beats blaring out. Lush lasers in this set.

There’s no getting away from it - DnB has some funky beats and expansive sounds (at 2:48 I’m reminded of The Goonies when they discover the pirate treasure - it’s weird what the brain links together hey?) - Generator - Dimension.

30 Days of Dancing #19 Today Iโ€™m happy I can see more definition in my face. It got with puffy with all the dairy I was eating. Iโ€™ve mostly cut it out now along with meat. Seems to be doing my figure a load of good being back with the plants. Absolutely loved this Sean Tyas set.

30 Days of Dancing #18 Really remembering the ‘old’ way of dancing with other people in today’s dance. Just before the world locked down I was in a basement club getting sweaty with strangers. It’s a weirdly exhilarating pastime, connecting with folk over dance, music and smiles.

Early ‘trance’ from the late 90s I used to dance to definitely had more of a sexy vibe than today’s offerings. Now women seem to sing about relationships in trance songs but back then they also sang songs like these…9pm til I Come and Encore une Fois.

30 Days of Dancing #17 I love Factor B. He knows how to end a set. He had me dancing to classic songs from my youth like Born Slippy and this gem. Got a good dance hoover in today and worked up some heat in the kitchen in between chopping ๐Ÿฅ• ๐Ÿฅ• and peeling ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿฅ”. Hereโ€™s his set.

30 Days of Dancing #16 Sleeeeeeeepy today. But still danced in various seated positions for a couple of hours. It’s amazing how fit you can feel without even standing up but by moving your whole body consistently, to a repetitive beat. Beats rule : ) So does this track from 1999.

Entered the bathroom to discover it had turned into a pine forest. Yay! ๐ŸŒฒ ๐ŸŽ„ ๐ŸŒฒ What a delicious scent. I โค๏ธ pine.
