Get on and Shine with Holly Honeychurch

I let go of my garden tools before I went travelling so buying a few small things like a trowel, a bucket (a truly great bucket) and a bag of compost finally feels like my green fingers have returned. Working with earth and plants is one of my favourite things.

Found myself listening to this awesome Motown track tonight. Everything about it is cool. And I love the suits.

When you hear a wren go off on a massive melodic tangent singing so loud and fast that the whole tree of jackdaws joins in and there’s suddenly a symphony of birds before you.

That moment when you haven’t had a fridge or washing machine for 2 weeks and they’re now 5 minutes from being delivered 🤸🏼‍♂️💃🏾✨

Beacon of light 🌟

Loving this moon tonight. What a colour.

First play in the open air for a very long time. Couldnae see a thing but enjoyed a great session somehow. 😍 The harp sounds lush out here. Expansive and bright. Singing out over the valley. 🌞 🎶

These sacred friends have traveled with me over the years. They now come to rest at a magical place in Scotland. They say I have chosen wisely. I’m sure they’ll get up to mischief (riding on spiders backs for instance) as well as watch over our home with kindness and love.

Been dipping into this Bryan Kearney trance set. There are some real old skool crackers. He appreciates the classic tunes. I just caught this little gem by Jam & Spoon a moment ago. I sure do remember being 19 and dancing to this late into the night. Cheesy, uplifting fun.

New studio setup for magic making. ✨✨

Good morning from chatty jackdaw heaven. You can just hear the tumultuous Clyde river in the background.

Full moon right now

Tree heart of the glimmering golden sun

Countryside glow.

A sweet light in the woods at golden hour this evening.

Tree time. Soon they’ll be green with leaves but for now I’m enjoying their silhouettes. It’s where the jackdaws roost. I can hear their cheeky chatter from the kitchen. ☺️

Goodbye Glasgow home. You were an interesting experience but I’m grateful not to feel caged anymore. Thanks for the memories, they were a mixed bag of emotions some of which I’d rather not feel again! Now onto pastures new, via a lovely train ride before the unpacking commences.

As well as knowing the warmer weather is coming here in Glasgow, it’s also the moment to remember the seagulls are coming too. I’m starting to hear them again. Eventually there’ll be hundreds of them, nesting on the tenement chimneys above - their cliffs of the city. They sing and laugh all through the night. Banging pots and pans out the windows doesn’t stop them (3rd floor neighbours tried that one at 2am once : )) I adore their noisy charm, but I’m also glad to be escaping to the countrysdie tomorrow. Obviously, there awaits roaming badger gangs, rampant rabbits, and screaming foxes and (excitedly) who knows what else (!). I’m looking forward to it all.

One of my moving house rules is that I can definitely eat the big carrot cake with a fork rather than cutting slices (also a childhood fantasy).

Probably the most epic set I’ve ever heard. Hard, fast, full of energy and industrial sounds. Many moments of uplifting and ethereal beauty too. Rikhter is a force to be reckoned with. Bit hard on the eye with the strobe lighting (not a fan) but this is a sound wizard at work.

My new favourite techno set - Kobosil @ Unpolished 2019. Energetic, original, great for packing. I had moments where I stopped completely and just stomped around like I was in a club! Hope they come to Glasgow. I’m in! 42 mins onward really blew my mind 🤸🏼‍♂️ Now, where was I?

Yay! We’ve found a tiny house in the countryside to call home. Part of some old grade II listed farm buildings, on the edge of a sweet town, an hour from Glasgow. There’s even a train station. I’ve got a little garden to plant aromatic herbs with divine bird song for company. 🌻

What a beautiful movie Soul is. Glorious animation with a nurturing, healing message. It’s full of positivity and kindness. The action doesn’t overpower the story either. Lush soundtrack too partly composed by the awesome Trent Reznor. A delicious watch with lots of soul.
